Emilie and Steve |
Ol' Flash was on the move today. Emilie wore a little onesie that had a tutu on it and so Aubrie picked out hers to wear this morning. With her boots, of course. The boots didn't last long because it was so hot and her feet were so sweaty.
She woke up at 5:45 this morning and wouldn't go back to sleep because she was in mom and dad's room and was excited. Let's just say she napped for 3 plus hours.
I decided I wanted to go to the zoo or library today because those are things that Adam doesn't get to do with us because of work. The zoo was eliminated because it was blazing hot today, so we decided to go the the library for story time.
Here is half the family at the library. We got to say hi to Tia but didn't stay for lunch because Adam planned a massage for me today at 1:30. So we rushed home and ate sandwiches and I went to get my massage and he stayed at home with the girls and put them down for their naps. He also made me cupcakes for Aubrie to decorate while I was away. She's big on cupcakes. When she woke up from her nap, she decorated one and they put a candle in it and she sang happy birthday to me. She loved it. Granny gave her a toy cake that she practices blowing candles out and she has toy cupcakes that she loves to carry around and sing happy birthday with.
My massage was wonderful. The woman did a wonderful job of working on my shoulders and neck. My posture has gone out of the window since having kids. I am always hunched over and hauling something...a pregnant belly, a toddler, a diaper bag, a laundry basket. Hopefully when Emilie's naps will allow it, I can make it to the Y in time for yoga. Maybe senior yoga. :)
I saved all my cards and gifts and opened them this morning. Thank you everyone for all your generosity and gifts. Aubrie enjoyed helping me open my presents. Adam chipped in with some of my birthday money and got me a new camera. I am looking forward to using it. I'm a little nervous about getting it out of the box, but I'm sure I'll figure it out and hopefully take better pictures than all of these that I'm posting with my iPhone.
Emilie is doing better today. She is still tugging at her ear and she doesn't even know her gum has a cut. She's such a trooper. She really enjoyed having her dad home today. She NEVER wants me to hold her when he is around. I'm ok with it. I've got the other little monkey wanting to be held by me all the time. I'm so blessed to have two beautiful girls and a loving husband. He took me to Ruth's Chris steakhouse for dinner tonight. Words cannot describe how much I enjoy their steaks. I LOVE THEM! It was a perfect day. Turning 30 wasn't that bad. It's only been 11 years since I lived under mom and dad's roof. It's only been 7 years since I graduated from college. But if I didn't get older and "grow up", then I wouldn't have all these life experiences and my wonderful family that I enjoy every day. I praise the Lord for one more healthy year!
Love to all! Pin It Now!
