Aubrie loves talking about Duke, Poppy's horse. She had some pretty good times feeding him and watching him while we visited this past summer. Well, one of our volleyball moms (Kaffee a.k.a. Kathy) gave her a take home version of Duke and Aubrie LOVED it!
He barely fit in the backseat with us. It was funny because Kathy brought it to us in the parking lot and Aubrie immediately starting riding him and playing with him. Then when we said bye and started to leave, Aubrie handed him back and said thank you. Kathy told her she gets to keep it. Aubrie is used to going to Target with me and playing with the toys and then telling them bye and putting them back. :) Duke stays up in Aubrie's room but when we tried to put him in bed with her she informed us that horses don't sleep in the bed. Silly daddy.
My other story on Aubrie is that we made apple dumplings to give to our new neighbors and I had Aubrie help me take it over to them. She wanted to carry the plate with shrink wrap over the top and was being very careful. As soon as I rang the doorbell, she tipped the plate forward and all the dumplings fell onto the ground as they opened up their front door. They took them anyways. Who knows if they ate them. :)
Today Emilie only slept for two hours and so I went in there and she let me hold her and rock her. She just laid in my arms and looked at me. She played with my face, stuck her fingers up my nose and in my ears. She really is a sweetheart and it is very rare that she'll lay still for some love. I really enjoyed it.
We had leftovers tonight and I worked hard in the house today. My car can now be parked in the garage, but we still have a lot of boxes in the dining and living room that need to find a home. I worked mainly in the bonus room and organized the toys and games. It's really coming out nicely. Except there is a low hanging light for a pool table that we have to replace. I don't want anybody swinging from it like a monkey or Adam to be hitting it with his head.
Love to all!
