Bremen Bound

I've got internet!!!  I am going to post as many pictures as I can.  We are in Bremen, Adam's home town for a family 4th party.  His parents host it every year.  They have a carnival in town and we all BBQ at the house, then go over to watch the kids ride rides.  Above is a picture of the lake cottage and below are it's proud owners, Harold and Verdene Huhnke.

Emilie enjoyed some watermelon

A volleyball mom and her daughter, Kathy and April (or as Aubrie says, KAFEE) gave them this tent to play in.  We brought it along to the lake and we've had a lot of fun!

Emilie was chilling in her "boat" with her sippy cup.  She's a hoot.

Yesterday we went for a boat ride and when we got back, Emilie was up from a nap and Granny was putting lunch together so she rigged up the rocking chair for her.
Here are both the girls on their "boats."  I love them!  :)

Aubrie "sharing" mommy's float.

The other night we had BBQ chicken and sweet corn.  Here, there is a produce stand called "Sweet corn Charlie's".  The Indiana sweet corn is so delicious and fresh.  You almost don't need the chicken.  But luckily the chicken is so delicious, so I pigged out on both!  BBQ chicken isn't your traditional sauce, this is a tasty recipe that Grandma Huhnke gave us.  It's delicious!

BBQ Sauce
½ cup water
1 cup vinegar
¼ lb butter melted
1/8 cup salt
1/8 tsp sugar
1/8 tsp pepper
1 tbsp accent

Melt all the ingredients on the stove, dip each piece before putting on grill, then baste the rest of sauce on while grilling.
For 18 pieces of chicken
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  We had boat-in church.  We all pile on the boat with a picnic breakfast and then we take the boat to Oakwood Hotel's pier and we anchor our boats around the Hotel and listen to the sermon from our boat.  Petey gets to go with us and  Aubrie enjoyed waving at everybody that went by.

Please remember all the service men and women who are fighting for our independence which we frequently take for granted.  I know I do.  I'm also thankful for the Walkers, Barnes, Huhnkes, and Marks that migrated to our country many years ago to make better lives for themselves.  I'm here because of their dreams and hard work.  Happy Independence day!!!
Love to all!! Pin It Now!
